Last Saturday my best girlfriend and I were sitting at my place bored and depressed about both of us having no dates for that night. We were the only two of all of our friends to not have plans. Jessica was going to movie with Tom, Rick was going to dinner with Paige, and even Chasewho had to spend the night at his grandparents sixtieth anniversary party had a date. And did we have plans, no Jen and i were at home watching reruns of American idol. Joining a dating site on the web was practically foreign to us. It was a different world full of words like love, girlfriend, boyfriend, happy, and sex. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

We found a website that seemed harmless enough, it focused on making you a better girlfriend or boyfriend and it didn't pressure us with anything about a soul mate. We created profiles and even included one of our favorite hobbies, watching American Idol. We figured we would be as honest as humanly possible. Once we were done we viewed each others and joked around about some of the details we chose to add and decided that for a picture we would both put something fun and flirty. I chose a picture of me making a crazy face with Jen in the back smiling like a dork. She chosea picture of both of us that we had taken inside a picture booth that said homies forever. We had a total blast.

The following Saturday bored at home with again no dates we checked our profiles to see if we had gotten any hits. We did! I got seven replies and so did Jen, we were ecstatic. We opened all their profiles and checked out all their pictures making joke after joke. That's when we realized our Saturdays were not being wasted.
